Get the Bottega Look for Less: Braided & Quilted Sandal Shopping Guide

Hello loves! I have been obsessed with the various chunky braided and quilted Bottega Veneta sandals that have been everywhere lately. Since those are currently out of my budget (maybe one day!), I was determined to find a Bottega-esque sandal for summer at a lower price. I went with this pair from H&M that just came in the mail this week. Unfortunately, this pair is sold out in most sizes now, but I wanted to put together a shopping guide for y’all so you can get this trend at a lower price point as well.

IMG_7634 2.JPG

There are so many brands taking inspiration from Bottega without creating direct knockoffs, and I have included my 8 favorites that I have found below. Most of these styles come in multiple colors as well. Simply click on the image of a shoe to shop. Let me know which style is your fav!

Do you like when I do dedicated posts dedicated to one designer inspired trend? Let me know!

Best,

Channing

Retailers I've Been Loving: H&M

Hello loves! Do you ever not shop at one retailer for a while, then come back later and everything is FIRE? Lately that has been me with H&M. They have been crushing the game with their new arrivals and I have been thoroughly impressed with the quality. I thought it would be fun (and useful) to show y’all how I’ve styled the pieces that I have recently picked up, along with showing some of the pieces I don’t own, but I think are super chic. Let me know if you enjoy this style of post!

Which pieces do you have your eye on? I’ll be sure and keep y’all updated when I see new pieces on the site.

Favorite Purchases I've made during Quarantine

Hello loves! I hope you are still staying safe and healthy! I don’t know about you, but I have been online shopping a little more than usual during quarantine - I prefer to shop in store. I have accumulated some gems over the last couple months and thought it would be fun to share with y’all. Let me know what your favorite purchase during quarantine has been!

White T-Shirt

Finding the perfect white t-shirt is a struggle. I am super picky and absolutely hate anything that’s a tiny bit see through. Not only is the fit on this tee perfect, but it’s not overpriced (currently on sale for $18) and not see through. It comes in sizes XXS-XXL and I wear a medium.

IMG_5103.JPG

Tula Sunscreen

It’s important to integrate SPF into your daily skincare routine, but it can be hard to find one that’s a perfect fit for your skin - I finally found the one! This one is a lightweight gel formula with no white cast and SPF 30. Use code THECHANCHIC at checkout to receive 15% off any orders from Tula!

IMG_5783.JPG

Staud Bag

I picked this bag up during the Staud sample sale via 260 sample sale and I absolutely love it. I found it online at a reduced price if you’re interested. 260 normally doesn’t do online sample sales, so I would definitely follow them on Instagram and take advantage if you normally aren’t in NYC.

Dry Brush

I might do a whole blog post on this at a later date (I did post a TikTok about dry brushing) but this is such a game changer! There are a ton of benefits of dry brushing such as exfoliating away dead skin, stimulating the lymphatic system, and preventing signs of aging. This brush is under $10 and there are so many tutorials online on how to use it.

IMG_4553.JPG

Initial Necklace

You probably have noticed that I love gold jewelry, and this is such a fun statement piece, without being too over the top. Since I own a multitude of short dainty gold necklaces, I love that this one has a bit of a longer length and a larger charm.

Pearl Sandals

I’m such a sucker for pearls and knew I had to have these when I saw them on the Zara site. Since they’re a neutral color they go with so many looks, yet the pearls make a statement. I can’t wait to wear these throughout the summer!

Which of these products was your fav? Let me know!

Hello loves! Back in February prior to quarantine, I posted a swimsuit shopping guide post. Now that it’s warming up and we are slowly but surely being able to go to pools and beaches, I thought it was time for another swimsuit round up. There are so many new and chic options on the market and many are currently on sale. Let me know where the first place you’re going to in a new swimsuit in the upcoming months!

Which swimsuit is your favorite? I am about to add the floral bow back one to my cart!

Things Under $10 I love

Hello loves! I hope you are all staying safe and healthy. Today I thought it would be fun and helpful to share some of my favorite products that are under $10. Most of these products I brought back to Texas with me, but a few I left in NYC (and I’m missing them!!). If you want to buy yourself a little treat right now, these under $10 finds are for you.

Raffia Headband

I bought a headband like this in London (by the brand Miss Selfridge) for 10 pounds, and I found an identical version for under $10 on Amazon! This is the perfect accessory for your spring/summer looks.

Heart Sunglasses

I purchased these for my Vegas triThip last spring break, and they are still one of my favorite statement accessories. These sunnies come in other colors if white isn’t your thing, but I absolutely love these for spicing up a look (especially poolside!).

E57472EA-D164-491B-811A-8A9E574AD4AE.JPG

Billie Razor

I talked about this razor recently on my Instagram stories, but I absolutely love this razor! The starter kit is only $9 and they conveniently deliver the blade refills to your door. Not only is this razor affordable but it is complete with charcoal soap and offers a close shave.

Undereye Patches

These are like a gel/sheet mask, but targeted specifically towards the under eye area. They’re cooling and moisturizing - and definitely are an easy way to prevent early signs of aging.

Colourpop Lipstick

This is one of my favorite lipstick formulas and it’s under $10! I have the colors Lay Over and LA Lady and I love them both (Lay Over is definitely a more wearable color if you love neutrals). This is a semi-matte finish and the product does not feel cheap at all (I love the stars that are embossed on the side of the lipstick).

Glycolic Acid Toner

I featured this toner in my nighttime skincare routine post, and I am still loving it! It’s an amazing chemical exfoliant and does wonders for acne prone skin. This toner is drying, so it is recommended that it is only used once a day, preferably at night. I’ve had mine since the fall, have been suing it daily, and it still hasn't;t run out - definitely worth $9!

Face Earrings

I have a pair of these that I purchased from Beehive in Austin, but I found an almost identical pair on Amazon for under $10. Since these earrings are a classic gold color, they go with any outfit, yet make a statement.

IMG_1276.JPG

ELF Eyebrow Pencil

I’ve been using this as my daily eyebrow pencil since the summer - and it’s only $2. I use the taupe color and it doesn't an amazing job at quickly yet precisely filling in the brows.

Pearl Headband

Another great Amazon headband find! I think this is a great year round accessory and can be dressed up or down.

Let me know if you decide to add any of these products to your collection!

Spring Break Essentials

Hello loves! I know for most of you, spring break is just around the corner. I am not going on a tropical spring trip this year (I am however going to London this week) so that is why I haven’t been sharing a ton of spring forward content - I truly haven’t bought anything yet because I haven’t needed it. Over on my Instagram, a good portion of y’all said that you wanted to see a spring break post, and I am here to give the people what they want. I will definitely be adding more spring pieces to my wardrobe once it warms up in NYC and when I start preparing for my family’s beach trip in May, but for now I browsed the web and put together a round up of pieces that I am loving and would purchase if I were going on a spring break trip.

If you’re looking for more swimsuits - see my swimsuit shopping guide that I posted a few weeks ago. As always, if you like something, click on the picture to shop. Enjoy!

Transitioning Your Wardrobe to Spring

Hello loves! Spring is quickly approaching, but if you’re like me, the weather doesn’t feel like spring. Dressing for a seasonal transition period can be difficult, but today I’m going to try and alleviate some of those pains. I’m sharing some of my tips for transitional dressing, plus a few pieces that are available online that I think will be perfect for this time of year.

IMG_0992.JPG

One tip I have for transitioning into spring is to incorporate lighter washes of denim. Denim is a year round staple, but the lighter washes tend to give off a more spring time vibe. Layering a denim jacket over any look is a great way to stay warm, while not looking like you’re dressing for a colder season.

FA2219EE-F252-4232-AB84-CCE7FD617F03.JPG

Speaking of lightweight layers, I have been absolutely loving this coatigan lately. It has the design of a coat, but is the weight of a cardigan. This is the ideal piece for when you need an extra layer but you don’t need a full on coat. I am also obsessed with the trend of wearing a button up cardigan as a top or layered over a dress. I think a cardigan with a deep v-neck is much more spring forward than a sweater with a higher neck. There’s something about the buttons on a cardigan too that make it more optimal for spring and not as heavy looking. I personally don’t own one of these cardigans yet but I linked one in my shopping guide down below.

Wearing long sleeve dresses and longer length skirts are also great ways to transition your wardrobe to spring. A dress that has a spring pattern or color but on a more winter-like silhouette is a great way to look more spring ready when the weather says otherwise.

Another tip is to wear shoes that are traditionally fall/winter styles, but opt for lighter colors. I recently purchased the above beige croc booties and I can see myself wearing throughout spring as well. I am also loving the color of the light mules too.

Let me know what your favorite transitional piece is!

Spring 2020 Swimsuit Shopping Guide

Hello loves! I asked over on Instagram if it’s too early for spring content - and y’all said no so I put together my first swimsuit shopping guide of the season. All of these pieces are under $100 (y’all know I don’t like opening too much on swimsuits). Some of the trends I’ve noticed for this season are cut outs, ruffles, and buckles. I am not going anywhere warm for a couple months, but I honestly might go ahead and pick a couple of these up - they’re so chic. As always click the images to shop - I hope this helps you prepare for any upcoming spring trips you may have!

4 Ways to Style a Graphic Tee

Hello loves! I love maximizing my wardrobe and owning pieces that I can wear multiple ways. Graphic tees are one piece that can be worn a variety of ways. The most recent graphic tee I added to my collection is from Brandy Melville (sadly I can’t find it online) and inspired me to do this post. There are so many chic graphic tees on the market, so along with sharing the pieces I used to create my looks, I have also linked 9 graphic tees that are currently available and are under $50. I hope you enjoy seeing 4 different ways to style a graphic tee - let me know which way is your favorite!

My Designer Shoe Collection

Hello loves! I constantly am rotating through my shoe collection with my outfits on Instagram, but I realized I never really break down the details of my purchases with y’all. I thought it would be useful (and fun!) to talk about my designer shoe collection with y’all. As a lover of fashion, I love designer shoes and investing in quality pieces that I will wear for years on end without wear and tear. For each pair I’m breaking down when I got them, where/how I purchased them, and why I love them. Let me know if you enjoy these collection style posts!

IMG_9500.JPG

Gucci Princetown Mules

These are by far my most worn designer shoes. I received these as a Christmas gift last year and am still just as obsessed with them today as I was the day I got them (I would even consider purchasing additional colors). I love wearing these with jeans or midi dresses.

IMG_9513.JPG

Louboutin So Kate Pumps

This is a classic silhouette from and iconic brand that I had always had on my wish list. I purchased these last December off The Real Real (I have a full blog post about them HERE) gently used with the dust bag and box at a fraction of the cost. These shoes are highly uncomfortable, but since I love how they look I only wear them when I know I won’t be standing for long periods of time.

IMG_9518.JPG

Stuart Weitzman Pearl Heels

These heels were another purchase from The Real Real. I picked these beauties up back in May to wear for my college graduation - I wanted a fun heel with my cap and gown. These were a great deal and came with the dust bag and box, but my only complaint is that the lining came apart the first time I wore them, and once again after I got them repaired. I am going to get them repaired one last time when it’s closer to sandal season then I’ll reevaluate this purchase - I’ll let y’all know!

IMG_9516.JPG
IMG_9517.JPG

Chloe Lauren Heels

If you keep up with my Instagram stories, you would know that this pair was my most recent purchase. I found these at the Union Square Nordstrom Rack for 66% off. The pair I got are patent leather, which I cannot find anywhere online so I’m guessing they were at Nordstrom Rack because they’re an older fabrication. Nordstrom’s trash is someone else’s treasure right?!

IMG_9514.JPG

Stuart Weitzman Ashlyn Booties

I purchased these back in the fall as a part of a discount promotion at work. Unfortunately I cannot find them anywhere online now. I have been wearing these non-stop this fall. They’re comfy, durable, and the pearls add a feminine touch.

I hope you enjoyed this break down of all my designer shoes. Let me know which pair is your favorite!

January Favorites 2020

Hello loves! We FINALLY made it to the last day of January (this month felt so long). I thought I would wrap up the month by sharing my most used products and top discoveries. As always you can shop picks by clicking on the image, or the pink links. Let me know if you’re loving any of the same products, or if you decide to add any of these to your collection!

Cream Sweater

I’ve been wearing the HECK out of this sweater this month (if you follow me on Instagram you would know). The best part is, it’s only $30 and doesn’t feel cheap.

Hydrogel Sheet Masks

The NYC winter has made my skin more dry than I am used to, and I have been loving using these hydrogel masks by Tula to combat dry skin. The masks are hydrating, easy to use and messy free. I also love the cooling effect this mask gives while on my face.

Colorfulkoala Leggings

I received these leggings for Christmas and they are SO soft and comfy. Many people are claiming they are Lululemon dupes because the quality is so good - but they’re a fraction of the price. NOW, before you go off on me on promoting a clothing piece from Amazon, Colorfulkoala also has their own website where they have a statement regarding their supply chain - so I feel comfortable promoting these.

Red Fur Coat

This statement coat is everything I didn’t know I needed. It’s chic, keeps me warm, and comes in 8 colors. PLUS it’s $100 off right now.

Neutral Wide Brim Hat

A neutral colored wide brim hat had been on my list for a while, and I’m so glad I now have one in my collection. My favorite part about this hat is how sturdy the brim is - it is NOT floppy at all. I saw some bloggers compare this hat to the Lack of Color ones that retail for $100+ but this beauty is only $40.

Tula Primer

If you tune into my Instagram stories, you’ve definitely heard my talk about this. Like the name says, it adds an almost filter like effect to the skin. I like using this on it’s own in combination with the Tula eye balm, or under makeup.

Mini Hoop Earring Set

Ever since I was able to change out my earrings in my third piercing that I got in May, I had been looking for dainty hoops to wear. I received this set for Christmas and I absolutely love them all! Mini hoops like this allow you to create so many different looks in your ear.

I hope you enjoyed hearing all about my January favorites!

Just a Bunch of Good Pieces That Are on Sale

Hello loves! With the holidays behind us, so many brands are reducing prices at this time. A few of my favorite pieces that I have been wearing all fall and winter are on sale, so I thought I would put everything together in one place so y’all can see what is on sale, along with how I style these pieces. As always you can click the pink links or products images to shop, or follow me in the LIKEtoKNOW.it app to shop all of my looks in their entirety. Enjoy!

CD9E3E3E-7300-4348-B006-F54DA0CE8B97.JPG

The sweater dress I’ve been wearing non stop this season is currently 50% off - making it only $35. This versatile dress has an oversized fit (I’m wearing a small) and comes in 4 colors.

Three pairs of shoes that I think are so chic are all 60% off. I love wearing the leopard booties with jeans and a solid sweater to add a pop of print. If you want a subtle touch of western flare, I recommend the tall “cowboy” boots. And lastly, if you’re going to an event (I wore these on NYE) the star heels are just for you … and at $40 the price can’t be beat!

This sparkle top was my go-to party look throughout the holiday season. I think this top would also be perfect for Valentines day or a trip to Las Vegas. I love how it can easily be dressed down with jeans, while still making a statement. I found it on sale on a couple different sites - they each have different sizes in stock.

Facetune_22-12-2019-16-49-30.JPG

If you’re looking for an attention grabbing coat, this one from Apparis is on sale. It’s super warm and makes a statement (and comes in multiple colors!).

Thanksgiving Outfit Inspiration

Hello loves! I asked y’all over on Instagram if you wanted to see a Thanksgiving outfit ideas blog post, and since the majority voted yes that’s what I am going to share today. I wrote a post about Thanksgiving looks last year, so feel free to reference that one as well if you’re looking for additional inspiration.

In terms of fashion, Thanksgiving is a time for warm tones, cozy layers, and comfortable fitting pieces (no one likes to fee bloated in tight skinny jeans after a Thanksgiving meal). I’ll be back in Texas for Thanksgiving, which is most likely going to be warmer than New York. Adapt the layers in these looks to your climate (i.e. add tights with dresses, take off a jacket, etc.). Here are a few looks that I think would be great at any Thanksgiving dinner. Be sure to scroll through the products below each image to see where everything is from and see where you can find similar pieces.

Sweater Styling & Shopping Guide: Fall 2019

Hello loves! We are in the thick of sweater season - one of my favorite times of the year. Sweaters are so easy to style; just pair them with jeans or a chic skirt with some boots and you’re good to go (see all my favorite boots for fall that would pair wonderfully with any of your sweaters HERE). In this post I am breaking down three of my favorite categories of sweaters, how I like to style them, and where you can purchase your own sweater in these categories. I hope you find this post helpful!

Statement Sweaters

I love pairing a bold printed sweater with a dark wash jean or solid color midi skirt. Animal print is a great place to start if you’re nervous about incorporating statement sweaters into your wardrobe. I picked up this zebra print sweater last season from Topshop and I’m so glad it’s finally cold enough for me to start wearing it again. Along with statement print, I’ve seen so many sweaters with statement sleeves and details that are super chic. I’ve had my ruffle sleeve sweater for a couple years now and I always receive so many compliments when I wear it out.

IMG_4942.JPG
IMG_4532.JPG

Back to Basics

While statement sweaters are fun, the basics will never go out of style. Another great thing about basic sweaters is that they are perfectly layering pieces and can help you build the perfect look. Top off a basic with a statement coat or a bold accessory and you’re good to go. My tan sweater pictured below is only $30 and is actually super high quality considering the price. I’ve worn it numerous times over the last year and it’s still in great condition.

36275A93-ACA1-4574-8A6F-9FB8990689E6 2.JPG

Pop of Color

Solid sweaters in a bold color are the perfect bridge between basic and statement sweaters. I have been trying to incorporate a little more color into my wardrobe (don’t worry I still love my neutrals). When it gets closer to Christmas, I think we will be seeing a lot more bold reds and greens, but for now pops of orange and pink are super hot.

Easy & Chic Last Minute Halloween Costumes

Hello loves! With Halloween just one week away and many of the festivities starting this weekend, I wanted to share some chic and easy to put together last minute costumes. Some of these I have used in year’s past, other’s are just ideas I have that I might use in the future. If you’re still struggling with what to be for Halloween, I got you!

Holly Golightly - Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Since this is my favorite movie, it makes sense that I’ve dressed as up two different versions of Audrey Hepburn’s iconic character in the past. The first costume is her iconic little black dress/pearl necklace look from the opening scenes of the movie (note: this is the exact moment that the little black dress gained popularity on the fashion stage - the one in the movie was by Givenchy). For this costume I purchased a black maxi dress that resembled the one in the movie, but honestly any black dress would work. I then picked up an accessories kit that contained all of the other key pieces.

Facetune_07-10-2019-18-38-02.JPG

The second Holly Golightly costume is her pajama look. For this look, I borrowed a dress shirt from my Dad’s closet (you could easily find this at the thrift store too!). I actually DIYed the iconic blue sleeping mask because at the time when I wore this costume, there weren’t any on the market I liked. Making the mask your self if still a great last minute option (I used blue felt from the craft store with some gold ribbon and embellishments), but now there are plenty of realistic ones available online.

IMG_4226.JPG

Vampire

A Halloween classic! All you need for this costume is an all black outfit, fake blood, and some fangs. The fangs that I used were easy to apply, but not ideal for eating and drinking (but fun for photos!).

IMG_4225.JPG

Sandy - Grease

Another iconic movie character that makes a great halloween costume! Pair a black top (preferably off the shoulder) with black leather leggings (a perfect excuse to purchase the Spanx ones!!), red heels, and hoop earrings. Throw on a red lip, curl your hair, and you’re ready to go. This is also an easy costume for couples - just tell your guy to wear black jeans and a black tee and gel his hair. (p.s. I thought I had a top for this costume but surprise I don’t so enjoy the bottom half of this look).

IMG_4740.JPG

Anna Wintour

The queen of Vogue herself! For this costume, simply tuck your hair into a bob (or purchase a wig if you’re really feeling it) and wear your biggest sunglasses possible. Carry around a copy of Vogue all night and criticize people’s looks for the full effect.

IMG_4739.JPG

Which of these costumes is your favorite? I would love to see your looks if you decide to use any of these costume ideas!

4 Types of Boots That Every Gal Needs: a Fall shopping + styling guide

Hello loves! Boot season is in full swing and I am loving it. There are so many different types of boots out there that serve a variety of purposes in someone’s wardrobe. Today I’m getting specific on what types of boots I think everyone needs in their life this season. I’m not saying you need to purchase the exact pairs that I have, but these are 4 trends that can be incorporated into anyone’s closet this season. Let me know which of the following types of boots are your favorite!

3800596C-4064-4745-AC8B-A5C17329833A.JPG

Pop of Color

Boots are definitely not limited to neutrals! Colored boots are unexpected, and there are so many chic autumn tones on the market right now. I originally purchased my orange booties to wear to a UT football game, but I’ve ended up pairing them with a variety of neutral toned outfits … they’re the perfect fall color!

IMG_3932 2.JPG

Animal Print

While snakeskin is probably the most popular animal print for boots at the moment, this is by no means the only print! Think of animal print boots as an elevated neutral. I love pairing mine with any solid outfit to add a patterned accent.

IMG_4268.JPG

Black Booties

The most basic, yet versatile of them all! I’ve never met a black bootie I didn’t like. From September-March you’ll see me pair these with anything from jeans to mini dresses to midi skirts. I definitely recommend investing in a higher quality pair of black booties. You’ll get so much wear out of them and they will last forever!

Over the Knee Boots

I hopped on the over the knee boot train about 2 years ago, and I am still 100% on board. I personally prefer suede ones that are flat or have a low heel, but I’ve seen people ROCK the heeled versions. My favorite way to wear these is with a mini dress (especially a sweater dress).

5 Transition Pieces to Transform Your Summer Wardrobe for Fall

Hello loves! Although the calendar says it’s officially fall, the weather says otherwise. I definitely want to break out my chunky sweaters and over the knee boots, but I also don’t want to sweat my butt off. Enter in - transition pieces. Transition pieces are styles that help you transform your wardrobe from summer to fall without dressing for a cold climate. These pieces, in combination with pieces from your summer wardrobe will help to transform your look for fall while the weather is still warm. Today I am sharing 5 pieces that will help you make the transition from summer to fall along with some styling tips. Let’s hop into the pieces!

Booties

Booties are more seasonless than a traditional tall boot, which is why they are one of the best footwear choices for transitioning your looks from summer to fall. Pair them with mini dresses for the perfect transition look.

Blazer

When you want to layer but don’t want something as heavy as a sweater or a traditional jacket, a blazer is the best option. I love dressing down a blazer by wearing a t-shirt under it. I am definitely looking to add a few more of these to my collection this season!

Denim Jacket

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I love a good denim jacket (well actually, I just love denim in general). Since denim jackets are a lightweight layering piece, they are perfect for transitioning your t-shirts and tank tops into fall.

Midi Skirt

Although I wore midi skirts all through the spring and summer, they are a great transitional piece due to their versatility. For transitioning into fall I suggest ditching your cotton midi skirts for satin ones and exchanging your bright prints out for darker ones. These skirts can be paired with anything from a bodysuit to a t-shirt to a sweater.

Backless Mules

Backless mules (also referred to as slides) have quickly become one of my favorite styles of shoes to wear. They add an element of sophistication to a look and make your outfit appear more fall-like. Since the back of your foot is exposed, you won’t be as hot as you would be in a boot or a traditional flat.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know what your favorite transitional piece is!

Labor Day Sales to Shop Today

Hello loves! Happy Labor Day! Considering I will be traveling the next two weekends, I am so glad to have this extra day off to relax and get things done around my apartment. With a holiday weekend comes some great deals online at some of my favorite retailers. I thought I would round up my favorite sales that I’ve seen this weekend and share with y’all some of my top picks from these sales. I mean who doesn’t like to save a little money while still getting chic clothes? Without further adieu, let’s hop into the sales.

ASOS

One of my favorite online retailers is offering 20% off site wide with the code 20HUN. ASOS is a great place to find chic and reasonably priced dresses and they’re filtering system makes it simple to find exactly what you want. They also offer free returns on all orders, so don’t worry if you purchase something and it doesn’t work out. I’ve got my eye on the white belted dress and pearl headband below, but they have so many great pieces on their site right now.

Red Dress Boutique

Red Dress Boutique is offering 20% off site wide with code OMG20 this Labor Day. In the few months that I’ve been a Red Dress customer, I have only seen one or two sales, so this is a great time to make a purchase if you’ve had your eye on something. I’ve been loving this midi dress with the braided belt from Red Dress - it’s in stock in all sizes and comes in three colors. The tiered midi dress below also comes in 7 colors.

Nordstrom

This is technically an “end of summer sale” but I am going to include it anyways because there are some great deals (no code necessary). Many pieces that were included in the anniversary are back in stock and back on sale, so this is a great opportunity to pick up anything you missed back in July. My favorite pink sandals are under $30.

Nasty Gal

This Labor Day Nasty Gal is offering 60% off site wide, no code needed. This is one of my favorite sites for picking up trendy pieces at a low price. This adorable one shoulder polka dot dress of mine is currently $24 during this sale and is in stock in all sizes. If you haven’t shopped on Nasty Gal before, just keep in mind that they’re pieces run a bit small, so I recommend sizing up.

I hope you found this post helpful! Which sales will you be shopping today? See y’all in the next post

Sorority Recruitment Shopping Guide + Style Tips

Hello loves! I can’t believe back to school season is already coming up. I asked on my Instagram stories if y’all wanted to see a post dedicated to what to wear during sorority recruitment, and majority said yes! Since I just graduated and have participated in sorority recruitment on both sides, I have a pretty good grasp on what makes a chic, yet appropriate outfit. I even went through my computer and found pictures of when I went through rush in 2016 (lol I always forget that I had dark hair and bangs at one point).

In today’s post I’m sharing some things to keep in mind when selecting your rush outfits, along with some dresses and accessories that are currently on the market that I think would be ideal for recruitment.

Every school is different, but one thing that is common among all schools is that the attire gets progressively more formal as the rounds progress. Start the week with your casual sundresses, then work your way up to a cocktail dress by preference night. Here are some other general notes to keep in mind while selecting your looks:

  • Avoid showing too much skin (i.e. deep v-necks, short dresses, etc.) you don’t want to stand out in a negative way! You also want to focus on your conversations in the houses, not worrying about if your boobs are going to fall out of your dress

  • Jumpsuits and rompers are OK for the early rounds, but I would stick to cocktail dresses towards the end (just my opinion!)

  • It’s going to be hot outside, so pick dresses made of lightweight materials

  • Show your personality through your looks! You’re going to feel the most confident and comfortable in outfits that make you feel like the best version of yourself

Below are the pieces that I found online that I think would be perfect for sorority recruitment. Click on any piece below and you will be taken to the website where you can purchase the item.

Feel free to leave a comment or shoot me an Instagram DM if you have any more questions or want more advice on sorority recruitment attire. I love helping y’all out. Best of luck if you’re participating in sorority recruitment this fall.
