How to Style a Coatigan This Fall + Coatigan Shopping Guide

Hello loves! One of my favorite clothing pieces for cooler weather is a coatigan - it’s a mix of a cardigan and a coat. This piece has the silhouette of a cardigan, but is made of a thicker material and tends to have a bit more structured (hence the coat part). I purchased my coatigan at the end of February, so I only had a little bit of time to style it before I went back to Texas to quarantine in March, so I cannot wait to style it this fall and winter! I purchased mine from Mango, but unfortunately it is sold out. Have no fear, later in the post I have linked 6 other very similar looking coatigans at a variety of price ranges.

The first way I styles my coatigan is with a simple white tee and faux leather joggers. It’s an easy piece to layer over a simple look like this one. Over a short sleeve tee, it’s perfect for transitional weather when you don’t need a full fledged coat.

I love how a camel color coatigan looks with an all black look. I definitely recommend investing in pieces that you can wear with black, brown, and navy looks - the more versatile the better.

A coatgian looks amazing with a dressed down look as well. Like in the look below from last February, I love layering a coatgian over a sweater when it’s a it colder out. This is the perfect combo for when it’s cold, but not cold enough for a sweater and a full blown coat.

Will you be adding a coatigan to your wardrobe this fall? I 100% recommend it and will continue to share more options with y’all.
